9 Days Hike Lemosho Route

[wte_itinerary_downloader] The Lemosho Route is widely regarded as the most beautiful and well-balanced way to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting on the remote western side of the mountain, it crosses the vast Shira Plateau and circles beneath Kibo’s southern glaciers before reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. With nine days on the itinerary, this is one of our most gradual climbs. The slow gain in altitude, two nights on the Shira Plateau and a “walk high, sleep low” day via Lava Tower give your body excellent time to acclimatise, which is the key to a successful summit. Highlights Quiet, uncrowded trails through rainforest on the western slopes Panoramic views of Kibo from the Shira Plateau Acclimatisation at Lava Tower (4,630m) before descending to Barranco Camp The famous Barranco Wall scramble, with views of the southern glaciers A midnight summit push via Stella Point to Uhuru Peak Who it suits First-time and experienced climbers who want the best balance of scenery, fewer crowds and a strong chance of reaching the summit. It is a camping route, supported by our experienced guides, cooks and porters. See the full day-by-day itinerary below, or contact our team to plan your climb.
